In 1947 the very first rope ski tow designed by local Queenstown inventor Bill Hamilton was installed at Coronet Peak, making it the country's first commercial ski resort. Two years later, the local Wakatipu Ski Club was also installed on the mountain, where members still ski today.

The Government Tourist Department used these images to entice tourists to visit NZ. Reproduced to match the original highly collectable posters.
